MARCELLUS TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — A senior is being treated for injuries he sustained after being run over by his own tractor at his property on East Street.
Cass County Sheriff’s deputies say 80-year-old Dale Stratton lost his footing as he was attempting to get on the 2020 John Deere tractor, knocking it into gear while falling, and was immediately run over by the large rear wheel of the three-ton vehicle.
Family members ran to the scene, called 911 and began to administer first aid.
Pride Care ambulance transported the victim to a spot where a Medflight helicopter could land and fly him to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
His condition has not been released.
