KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo is reviving its Citizens Review Board to review complaints about the Public Safety department and how officers handle themselves.
They are looking for six at-large members to add to the six who are selected by the City Manager that will represent specific organizations and diverse populations.
The advisory board was disbanded a few years ago because there just weren’t enough complaints to keep it going.
Now the City Manager also wants the new 12-member board to act “in an advisory capacity to assist the City Manager in building community trust by making recommendations to improve communications and outreach”.
There is an application available at this link.
