EAST LANSING, MI — App-based electric scooter rental company, Spin, lost its license to operate in East Lansing after a city council vote Tuesday night, according to media partner Six News WLNS.
The East Lansing city manager revoked the Spin contract in September 2023, but the company was allowed to continue to operate while it appealed the revocation. The revocation was ordered after Spin was found to have violated several city ordinances. Further investigation by the city confirmed the company had failed to collect the scooters from city streets in the overnight hours on multiple occasions.
The electric scooter company will now have seven days to collect all of its scooters off East Lansing streets, according to the report.
