KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A number of candidates were on the Kalamazoo ballot for election to positions on the Kalamazoo Public Schools (KPS) Board of Education.
The following number of votes come from the Kalamazoo County Election Results page, and are current as of 11:00 p.m. Wednesday. This comes as the 21,000 absentee ballots from the city of Kalamazoo have now been tallied into the election totals.
- Brionne Fonville – 8,486
- TiAnna L. Harrison (Incumbent) – 18,964
- Marshall Kilgore – 13,992
- Megan Maddock – 18,412
- Jason Morris (Incumbent) – 14,934
- Patti Sholler-Barber (Incumbent) – 14,959
Results are not final until they are certified by the Board of Canvassers.

During the November 3 General Election, voters in Kalamazoo will be asked to consider a number of candidates for the Kalamazoo Public Schools (KPS) Board of Education.
Voters can select up to three candidates for the KPS Board, and each term will last for six years.
The candidates are listed as follows:
- Brionne Fonville – As of Wednesday, September 23, Fonnville announced on her official Facebook page that she had dropped her campaign.
- TiAnna L. Harrison (Incumbent) – Harrison has served on the KPS Board of Education for the past six years. She, along with the three other incumbent candidates, are endorsed by former Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell. Further information is available at her official website.
- Marshall Kilgore – Kilgore is originally from Grand Rapids and is a student of political science at Western Michigan University. He is also the Director of Advocacy for the organization OutFront Kalamazoo.
- Megan Maddock – Maddock has worked as a special needs teacher in Kalamazoo for the last nine years, according to her official website. According to her official Facebook page, she is also an LGBTQ Equity and Inclusion Activist.
- Jason Morris (Incumbent) – Jason Morris is seeking reelection to the KPS board after first being elected in 2018. According to his official website, issues he is focused on include school safety, career and technical training, and equity for minority students.
- Patti Sholler-Barber (Incumbent) – Sholler-Barber has served on the board for the last 14 years, serving as the board President for 11 years. According to her official website, she is focused on issues like full funding for public education, diversity and inclusion, and increased social-emotional support for students.

In addition, according to the State sample ballot, Ken Greschak is running for a partial term ending on December 31, 2022. This ballot item is separate from the other candidates, and Greschak is running unopposed.
