KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — “The Dunn Decade” at Western Michigan University officially ends Tuesday, as Dr. Edward Montgomery takes over as the chief administrator of the largest public institution in the community.
Dr. Montgomery was once the nation’s “auto czar,” appointed to the post by then-President Obama. Most-recently, he served as the dean of the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
He will meet with WMU’s academic leaders first. He will then undergo on-the-job training and orientation. He will also meet with key employees and learn his way around the Kalamazoo campus.
Dunn will remain on for a year as President Emeritus, helping Montgomery ease into the job and doing special projects for the Board of Trustees.
