KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The best amateur tennis players in the nation will spend the next 10 days in the Kalamazoo area playing in four prestigious United States Tennis Association tournaments.
Singles and doubles tournaments start Friday in the 18 boys’ division. 16 boys’ tournaments start Saturday.
Coordinator Mike Riley says they’re also celebrating the event’s 75th anniversary in Kalamazoo.
There’s also a big exhibition match between tournament alumni Saturday night at Kalamazoo College.
“Andy Roddick will be our exhibition player, along with Michael Russell,” Riley said. “They’re both excited to be here.”
Roddick is a recent International Tennis Hall of Fame inductee.
Action will be spread across courts at K-College, Western Michigan University and Portage West Middle School.
