ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – Detroit Lions defensive end Trey Flowers has been placed on injured reserve. He left Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts with an undisclosed injury. Head coach Matt Patricia referred to it as short-term IR, meaning Flowers could return at some point.
Receiver Kenny Golladay also left with a hip injury.
The Lions get back to NFC North play this weekend. They visit the division rival Vikings Sunday in Minnesota. Detroit opened the season with losses to the Bears and Packers, but hasn’t played a division game since.
The Lions are 3-and-4. The Vikings are 2-and-5.
The clock is ticking if the Lions are to make any last-minute deals. The NFL trade deadline is this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
The Lions did previously acquire defensive end Everson Griffen from the Cowboys. He was originally a fourth-round pick by Minnesota in 2010.
