THREE RIVERS (WKZO-AM/FM) — Police in Three Rivers say a motorcyclist is dead after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into a semitrailer late Thursday.
Accoring to a press release from the Three Rivers Police Department, an officer spotted the motorcycle speeding down South Main Street and failing to yield for a traffic control device near West Michigan Avenue around 10 p.m.
The squad car activated its lights and attempted to pull the motorcycle over near 8th Street. After running a stop sign at 8th and East Broadway, the motorcyclist sped back toward South Main, drove through the red light and smashed into the commercial vehicle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. A name has not been released.
