PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) — The Angel Program is coming to the State Police Post in Paw Paw. That is the closest Post to Kalamazoo.
The national program by police agencies is specifically aimed at reducing the disturbing rise in the number of overdose deaths by reducing the number of addicts.
The program allows anyone with a drug addiction to walk into a Participating State Police Post to ask for help, without fear of arrest or investigation.
Lt. Dale Hinz says their only goal is hook up addicts with volunteers who can help.
There will be a few questions asked. Anyone with outstanding warrants or who appears on the sex offender registry isn’t eligible.
