LANSING, MI — President Joe Biden on Thursday approved Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration following summer storms in Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Kent, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, and Wayne counties.
Home and business owners in Eaton and Ingham counties are now eligible for federal assistance to help recover from damages caused by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding in August 2023.
The federal declaration now opens the application process for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance (IA) for affected residents.
Residents and business owners who sustained losses in the affected counties can begin applying for assistance at http://www.DisasterAssistance.
