Crossing guard hospitalized after being hit by car

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM)  —  A Kalamazoo Public Schools crossing guard is hospitalized after he was hit by a car yesterday afternoon outside Milwood Elementary.

The incident happened at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Foley Street, and the school says they have raised concerns about the intersection for the past five years with Kalamazoo Public Safety.

The man will undergo surgery today and suffered two broken bones.

His mother told the school he does not want the community to create a GoFundMe account for him, but would love visitors or cards.
