DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It is costing a bit less to fill the gas tank than last week in the state.
AAA Michigan says the statewide average for gas is $2.96 a gallon, a six cent drop from last week and 51 cents lower than last year.
A 15-gallon fill up costs $44 on average, down around $14 from the peak price last year in August.
The state’s most expensive gas is in Jackson at $3.02, while Marquette and Grand Rapids have the lowest price at $2.88.
Kalamazoo County’s average price is $2.90, Calhoun County is at $2.86, St. Joseph County is $2.88, and Van Buren County’s average is $2.88.
