WAYLAND TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Allegan County Deputies have released the name of the woman who drowned during a late night swim Selkirk Lake.
They say 40 year old Anna Elizabeth Demshuk of Holland went swimming with a female friend but didn’t come back to shore..
Road Patrol and Marine Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of 127th Avenue in Wayland Township and early Sunday morning. About 45-minutes after they arrived, they were able to pull Demshuk out of the water from a spot near a floating raft which was anchored in the lake.
EMS Crews started CPR but it was unsuccessful.
They believe alcohol and medical issues may have contributed to the death.
A post-mortem will be conducted but they don’t think foul play was involved.
