KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Not every dog has a “Lassie moment,” but some do.
That was the case early early Sunday morning with a woman and her dog in Kalamazoo.
The woman told firefighters that, after she made her morning coffee, she and the dog went into the basement. That’s when the dog began to bark and act as if something was wrong.
The woman went to investigate and found the stove on fire.
Another resident in the apartment in the 3700 block of Cedaridge Road was able to partially knock down the fire with an extinguisher and arriving public safety officers finished off the flames with their own extinguisher.
They say quick intervention prevented significant damage.
