BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — A motorcyclist from Battle Creek suffered life-threatening injuries over the weekend and remains at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies believe that Richard Winner Jr. was going too fast, had been drinking and wasn’t wearing a helmet when he lost control on a curve on Dickman Road near Base Avenue.
Investigators say he left the pavement and crashed into a ditch around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The 34-year-old was admitted to the trauma unit with fractured legs and severe trauma to his head.
His condition is not being released.
