GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kent County Road Commission managing director Jerry Byrne is warning it will take several days for plows to get all the roads clear after the weekend snowstorm that left over a foot of snow in west Michigan.
Byrne is telling people to double their normal commute times to and from work to be safe and says that goes for all of west Michigan including Kalamazoo County.
Plow drivers are working 12-hour shifts to get the roads clear, and he says it will be a challenge given the cold temperatures and the fact that salt does not work when the temperature gets below around 15-degrees.
