KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Eric’s Army was deployed Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Douglas and West Main, once again demonstrating to get officials to bring charges in the death of Erik Cross.
The battered and broken body of the 18-year-old Cross was found lying in the street in front of his parent’s home near Vicksburg in 1983. While it was initially treated as a hit-and-run, over time it became apparent that his death was due to something much more sinister and intentional.
The primary person of interest, Brent Spaulding, is currently jailed and awaiting trial on an unrelated stalking charge.
There are others as well the group would like to see prosecuted.
Many are classmates and friends of Erik who have grown older with the mystery unresolved.
