Amber Alert for Kalamazoo County toddler cancelled; child found safe

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM’FM) – An early morning Amber Alert in Kalamazoo County has been cancelled after the child was found safe.

Authorities issued the alert late last night after 37 year old Joseph Sans assaulted 14 month old Gage Sans’ mother at her Schoolcraft Township home, and took the boy away.

Joseph Sans was said to have been armed with knives, and had threatened harm to the child and others.

At around 2:00 a.m. Friday, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Dept. cancelled the alert, saying that Gage Sans had been found safe, but gave no indication if Joseph Sans had been taken into custody.
