KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — An iconic vehicle that’ll make you hungry for hot dogs is making its way through southwest Michigan this weekend.
Sean Miller couldn’t actually be an Oscar Meyer wiener, so driving the Wienermobile was the next best thing for him.
“About 2,000 people apply, and they have a process where they cut it down to 12 lucky dogs,” Miller said.
The 27-foot wheeled frankfurter is more than just an iconic piece of advertising, but, of course, there’s some advertising taking place. Oscar Meyer is promoting a new line of hot dogs free of nitrates, nitrites and preservatives.
“We’ll be in Family Fares throughout the area to spread smiles, make memories and talk about the new line of hot dogs,” Miller said.
The rolling weiner was in Battle Creek on Wednesday and the Kalamazoo area Thursday. It’ll stop at the Hastings Family Fare on Friday.
