TROWBRIDGE TWP., MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – A 35-year-old Allegan man lost his life south of his hometown on Monday night after a single-vehicle crash.
According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brandon Berens, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the area of 104th Avenue east of 32nd Street around 5:20 PM. That was where a westbound SUV veered off of the roadway and struck a tree.
The motorist, identified on Tuesday afternoon as Derek Schanz, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was not buckled in, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allegan County Medical Examiner’s Office.
