LANSING (WKZO-AM/FM) — The Michigan Legislature marked the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington on Thursday.
The commemoration of the terrorist attack has morphed into a celebration of military, police, fire and EMS, particularly those who have died in the line of duty.
Rep. David Maturen, R-Vicksburg, invited the parents of slain Wayne State Police Officer Collin Rose to the Capitol to participate in Thursday’s ceremony.
Other area lawmakers also brought local fire and police chiefs to the ceremonies.
