KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Following a nationwide search, YWCA Kalamazoo has selected Susan Rosas as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Rosas takes over in January 2024 from interim CEO Lisa Rodriguez.
Rosas comes to Kalamazoo after having served as the CEO of a Michigan statewide child welfare and homelessness nonprofit agency. Her previous work has included designing and operating the largest anti-trafficking program in Texas, national home visiting services and the national crisis line for immigrant children and families, and international systems change efforts to keep children in families and out of orphanages.
According to YWCA officials, she is “a keen strategist and builder of both programs and organizational infrastructure.”
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Miami and a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.
In a statement Tuesday afternoon, Rosas said, “YWCA Kalamazoo has a long history of trailblazing the path to equity. It is an incredible collective effort to create this heart-healing, power-sharing, future-building kind of refuge. Everything on my personal and professional journey has pointed me right here. It is truly an honor to join this extraordinary community of advocates.”
