HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies say a 26-year-old motorcyclist from St. Joseph lost a portion of their leg after rear-ending a semitrailer on eastbound Interstate 94 in Hartford Township.
It happened early Friday after the commercial vehicle slowed for backed-up traffic. Officers were called to the scene around 6 p.m.
After passersby and Michigan State Police rendered aid to the man at the scene, he was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
It’s not yet clear what caused the collision. It’s not yet clear if drugs or alcohol played a role.
