VICKSBURG (WKZO AM/FM) — Homeowners in the Village of Vicksburg are being told to boil their water for now, after routine tests found coliform bacteria in one sample.
Any water they use for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth or ingesting in anyway should either be boiled or bottled until further notice.
Any water for drinking should be brought to a boil for at least a minute before its safe.
Subsequent tests also tested positive for coliform bacteria and so they have begun to chlorinate the water in the system, and will continue to do so until tests show the problem has been addressed, the tests are negative and an advisory is issued that the water is safe to drink again.
