ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office has received a bullet and stab protective vest for K9 Knox from the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s Incorporated.
The organization has provided over 5,350 vests to K0s in all 50 states since being established at a 501(c)(3) charity in 2009.
The program is open to law enforcement K9s at least 20 months old that are actively employed and certified.
Vested Interest in K9s says there are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s in the U.S.
