MARCELLUS (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s another case of death by earbuds.Cass County Deputies say a young man walked right past warning lights into the path of an eastbound Canadian National freight train because it appears he was distracted by his music.
It happened at about 10:30 Thursday morning in the Village of Marcellus. Deputies say 27-year-old Logan Glenn Lamons was walking southbound on the sidewalk along Burney Street.
Witnesses say the gates were down, the gate bell was working and the lights were flashing.
They say the engineer was blowing his air horn and kept blowing it because he saw Lamons looking down at something. The engineer hit his brakes but could not stop in time to avoid hitting the man. It remains under investigation.
