KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Western Michigan University will have a new bag policy in place for Saturday’s home-opening football game at Waldo Stadium against Idaho.
There are some exceptions for clutches, but generally speaking, if the bag isn’t made of a transparent, colorless material, like a one-gallon freezer bag, you won’t be able to bring it into the stadium.
Backpacks, camera cases, purses, diaper bags, and fanny packs are all on the prohibited list, as are mesh, tinted, translucent and printed plastic bags.
The school is following Department of Homeland Security recommendations.
WMU also claims the new clear bag policy will get fans through security checkpoints and into the stadium faster.
A full list of what’s allowed into the stadium can be found here.
