KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Western Michigan University will give a $5,000 donation to Kalamazoo Public Schools.
The money comes from the Mid-American Conference through its partnership with the charitable arm of the College Football Playoff.
The MAC split $60,000 among its 12 member institutions for endeavors at elementary and secondary schools in the communities where the universities reside.
KPS will spend the money on reading materials for elementary classrooms.
The MAC says it intends to make the donation to WMU and its other conference members annually.
