EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University’s Berkey Hall, which has set empty since shootings last year claimed the lives of two students, is slated to reopen in the spring, according to MSU.
The hall is undergoing renovations currently in the wake of the deadly Feb. 13 shooting on campus.
Berkey is where a gunman opened fire first in a classroom on the first floor, then next door at the student union. The shooting claimed the lives of three students in all and injured five others.
The university has said resources will be available to support the campus community when the hall reopens. The school also as announced that classes will not be held on Feb. 13, 2024, the anniversary of the on-campus shooting.
