KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The debate now in Washington isn’t when the Latest Republican healthcare bill will come to a vote, but whether there will be a vote at all now that four republicans plan to oppose it.
Senators Susan Collins and Ted Cruz are the latest to say they can’t support the Graham-Cassidy bill. Protestors in Wheelchairs were once again dragged from the one and only committee hearing on the legislation.
Local protestors once again appeared at Representative Fred Upton’s Office in Kalamazoo,Bill Farmer saying every major medical outfit and a majority of the population also oppose it.
He says the bill would strip away coverage to a number of groups and deserves to be defeated.
Senate rules revert to needing 60 votes for passage this weekend, which will force Republicans to either seek a bi-partisan solution or walk away.
