KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – More than 1,700 ice skaters from eight states will be in Kalamazoo this week, competing in the 23rd Annual Kick-Off Classic synchronized skating competition hosted by Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association.
128 teams will be competing at the Wings Events Center Saturday, November 18 from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 19 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Event co-chair Kristen Crandle says the Kick-Off Classic is a great opportunity to see the synchronized teams early in the season, many of which will go on to compete at the national level, including some of the top collegiate teams in the country.

Tickets are available at the Wings Event Center Box Office. Parking cost is included in the ticket price.
The Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association (GKSA) is a member club of US Figure Skating whose mission is to establish, administer, and promote an education program devoted to the promotion of competitive and amateur figure skating and physical fitness within the community.
All eight GKSA Kalamazoo Kinetic synchro teams performed in a free exhibition at Wings Event Center Monday night as a send off for the Kick-Off Classic.
