Battle Creek Fire Marshal and BCPD investigate suspicious fire on Oneita Street

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – What is being called a suspicious fire is under investigation by the Battle Creek Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 33 Oneita Street Sunday morning at about 4:20 a.m..

They found a rubbish pile burning against the outside of the home. The fire was quickly put out.

It was contained to the outside of the home, with no injuries reported.

The fire marshal is working with the Battle Creek Police Department to determine its cause.
