KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Bronson’s Children’s Hospital has added up the pledges and donations and revealed that Sunday’s annual Run & Walk fundraiser set another record, bringing in more than $174,000 for programs and services, a 13% increase over last year’s event.
Nearly 1,900 people registered for the 3 mile and 1 mile events, despite the unseasonable heat.
“We can’t say enough about the people from throughout southwest Michigan who come to this event and show how much they support and care for our young patients and their families,” says Terry Morrow, Bronson’s vice president of development and community health. “The day is not only an opportunity to bring people together for a fun time, it’s also a chance to show that children’s health and well-being is a priority.”
The money will be deposited in the Bronson Health Foundation’s Children’s Hospital Fund which helps support child life and art and music therapy.
They plan to use some of it to renovate the pediatric playroom.
