LANSING, MI — First-time hunting licenses are up a whopping 95-percent since March. The Department of Natural Resources says it’s part of a national trend of getting more people outside for COVID-19 safe activities.
The DNR says 440-thousand-780 people have purchased a hunting license with over 64-thousand buying them for the first time. That is 31-thousand more than last year.
The archery deer season is currently underway. The traditional firearm deer season opens on November 15.
