BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police have arrested a 44-year-old man on several warrants after helping with a missing person investigation.
The police department stated in a news release that Kalamazoo Township Police contacted them last week about their ongoing investigation of a missing 23-year-old woman. They believed she was in danger, due to a domestic violence history with the suspect and police believed she was with him.
Battle Creek Police detectives and COPS officers located the man and woman last Friday in an apartment complex on Battle Creek’s east side.
Police say they found the man had several arrest warrants through other law enforcement agencies. The suspect reportedly had two guns in his possession when police took him into custody.
Police arrested the man on the warrants, and will also submit charges on two counts of carrying a concealed weapon.
Authorities say the woman was not harmed and has been reunited with her family.
