COLDWATER, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Michigan Lottery announced on Thursday that a Coldwater woman won a $150,000 Powerball prize thanks to a weekly ritual.
39-year-old Brandy Bowditch matched four white balls and the Powerball – 47-54-57-60-65, PB: 19 – in the October 7 drawing to win a $50,000 prize.
Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $150,000.
Bowditch bought her winning ticket at PS Food Mart at 709 West Chicago Street in Coldwater.
Bowditch says, “I buy two Powerball tickets every week, and I always check them at my favorite store after the drawing. I scanned my ticket and got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office, so I handed my ticket to the clerk and asked what was going on with it. She looked the ticket over and told me I must have won big. I checked the winning numbers on the Lottery app and was shocked when I realized the ticket was worth $150,000. When I told the clerk what I’d won, she yelled: ‘$150,000?!’ Neither of us could believe it!”
Bowditch recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She told the Michigan Lottery she plans to pay off her home, pay bills, and then save the remainder.
