KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The 19-year-old who is charged with breaking into an auto shop on Palmer Saturday night, and then breaking into several other adjacent businesses trying to escape from Public Safety officers, has had a busy summer, racking up other alleged crimes as well.
The owner of the autoshop believes Dequayveon Kizer may have broken into his shop two times before, and there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest when he was finally tracked down early Sunday morning.
County Documents show he is also charged with committing 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Conduct in May and tampering with the electronic tether he was assigned as a condition of bond in June.
Investigators believe he was trying to steal a vehicle from the auto shop, but the owner had secured all the keys and set up security systems that resulted in his capture.
Kizer is being held on eight separate counts on a $10,000 bond this time.
