DEARBORN (WKZO AM/FM) –As we reported last week, gas prices are up, way up. About 20-cents per gallon higher than they were a week ago according to AAA of Michigan.
The statewide average is now about $2.72 a gallon. Refinery maintenance, pipeline problems, and higher than expected demand are fueling the increases.
Patrick Dehaan at GasBuddy.com says prices should start dropping when those issues go away later this month.
We are paying about 54-cents per gallon more than this time last year.
