KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The reelected members of the 52nd Kalamazoo City Commission took their oaths of office at City Hall in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
The new Commission looks a lot like the old city commission with just one new member and a new Vice Mayor. Erin Knott who was the top vote getter last Tuesday and earned the #2 spot.
Mayor Bobby Hopewell says this next City Commission will have their work cut out as they will oversee the creation of the Foundation for Excellence, and begin to tackle some of the ambitious community improvement projects and poverty reduction programs that they hope to be able to accomplish.
The only change in manpower is the return of Eric Cunningham. He was replaced by Matt Milzarek at the ballot box two years ago. Milzarek choose not to run again and Cunningham won the seat back.
