ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Donations to the United Way of Ottawa and Allegan Counties are down by 30% and interim president and CEO Becki Postma says they have temporarily put a hold on the money for nonprofits.
She says the fundraising has fallen in the past five years and fell $500,000 this year alone.
Postma says the money problems are not unique to the two counties and is an issue nationwide. She says they are focusing on getting more funding soon.
