PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A tentative contract agreement is in place between Portage Public Schools and its teachers union.
The deal includes a 4.5% across-the-board pay raise and would be effective for a year.
Portage Education Association president Chris Furlong says the contract also has things in it to protect teachers from being verbally or physically assaulted in the classroom and will hold the district more accountable.
