LANSING, MI — There will be less roadwork to back up traffic through for Labor Day Weekend thanks to efforts by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
The department says they will pause work on about half of their 166 total projects across the state, which should help smooth out traffic snarls on major roadways. The pause on road work will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1.
Don’t forget the Mackinac Bridge will be closed on Labor Day from 6:30 a.m. to noon for the annual bridge walk; drivers are also being reminded Michigan’s new hands-free driving law went into effect earlier this summer.
