KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The two agencies assigned the task of promoting Kalamazoo to the outside world have been feuding for the better part of two years over the use of the numbers “269” in their promotional materials, and the County Board is seeking ways of pressuring them to get over it.
County Chair Dale Shugars says they help subsidize both Discover Kalamazoo and S.W. Michigan First, and they are unhappy to hear that the legal bill for the spat could total a million dollars, public money that could be used for much better purposes.
Shugars asked the County Administrator to come up with a list of options that they can pursue to help facilitate an end to the dispute, and get the two groups working together again.
