SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Schoolcraft Community Schools announced on Tuesday, August 22 the opening of its brand new elementary building.
According to the district, the new building will serve preschool through 6th grade students and is built to hold four sections of every grade level within its two stories.
The building, which was made possible by a bond campaign and two years of construction, will feature “innovative touches” to all areas of the structure along with a number of spaces designed for multiple uses, giving students and staff room to collaborate as every classroom will be equipped with educational technology.
District officials go onto say the school building can also be used by the community, with a smaller gym for physical education classes and a sizable gym designed to hold larger crowds and competitions.
And according to the school’s calendar, students are expected to head back to school on Monday, August 28th for a 1/2 day of classes.
