KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo’s Karianne Thomas has been doing the job for the last month.
Monday night she was formally sworn in as the Chief of the largest Public Safety Department in the U.S. during the regular City Commission meeting.
She is a 23-year veteran of the department who worked her way up from rookie to chief.
They also swore in five new Public Safety Officers last night, three of them are children of current or retired local officers.
