KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man charged in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old Kalamazoo boy in July was bound over to circuit court Tuesday, August 1.
According to court documents, 46-year-old Tieshawn Matthews was charged with murder following the death of 17-year-old Corleon Gordon back on Sunday, July 9. The documents indicated that he was also charged with felony firearms and for carrying a concealed weapon.
Gordon was shot on Summit Park Court and later died at the hospital, according to Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officials, who said that Matthews was carrying a gun matching the murder weapon when he was arrested.
Court records also showed that Matthews’ wife had called police the day before the shooting to report that a group of teens, including Gordon, pointed a gun at Matthews.
