KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — One man is in jail and a second may follow him once he is released from the hospital after a violent fight between roommates in a Kalamazoo Township home.
Officers responded to the 32-hundred block of Willow Lane at Hillcrest Mobile Homes at about 5 a.m. New Years Day and found two men injured.
Chief Tim Bourgeois says a 27-year-old punched and struck a 28-year-old from Las Cruces, New Mexico with a bottle.
A few minutes later after he recovered, the older of the two allegedly responded by breaking the bottle over the local man’s head and stabbing him in the back of the head with it, and then biting him several times.
The Hispanic male was treated and released at Borgess Emergency and jailed for attempted murder.
The younger man is still being treated for his injuries at Borgess but is expected to survive.
The case is being sent to the prosecutor.
