DOWAGIAC (WKZO) — A 23-year-old from Dowagiac is in custody after a domestic incident involving a couple of knives.
Van Buren County Deputies were responding to a complaint about a domestic assault involving a weapon when they learned from a third party that the victim and the suspect had just driven away from the scene of the crime on Keeler St.
A traffic stop was made and a deputy spotted a switchblade knife on the floor of the car.
The kitchen knife used during the alleged incident was recovered from the home.
The man is being held for domestic assault, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a mechanical knife.
The news release does not say if the victim needed treatment.
