WAYNE (WKZO) — During his visit to Michigan yesterday, President Obama touted the resurgence of the U.S. auto and manufacturing sectors.
Kicking off a three-state trek at a Ford plant in Michigan, the President thanked the auto workers for making it happen. He says they provided the funding, but automakers did the work.
Obama noted that 2014 was the strongest year for job growth since the 1990s and argued that manufacturing is leading the way. The President is sounding out themes for his upcoming State of the Union address. He said, “America is coming back.”
President Obama is not only supporting the auto industry, but siding with Detroit Lions fans over a controversial call by referees in Sunday’s playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Even though by preference, the President is a Bears fan, he thought the refs erred when they threw a flag for an obvious pass interference and then reversed the decision with no explanation.
He added that he thought Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant should have been flagged for coming onto the field and arguing with refs without his helmet on, which was another violation.
The President has a lot of power and authority, but even he can’t change the outcome of an NFL game once the fourth quarter ends.
