BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek Police have arrested a man and woman in last Thursday’s, July 20 stabbing incident on South 22nd Street.
Authorities say both 43-year-old Danito Cordell McMickens and 30-year-old Janna Nicole Parks were arraigned in Calhoun County Court the following day on Friday, July 21.
Police responded around 2 a.m. on Thursday to a home on Keith Drive to a report of a stabbing where they found a 33-year-old still bleeding from wounds to the upper part of his body.
The victim said that he had been at a different home on South 22nd Street where he had gone to purchase drugs. After arriving, he got into an argument with McMickens, which later became physical when both McMickens and Parks attacked him, stabbing him with a knife before he was able to flee from the scene, back to his home on Keith Drive.
Both suspects were arrested at the home on South 22nd Street and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail where they were charged with assault with intent to murder.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
